Catalyst Studio is a partnership between Jeff Gipson and Kristen Fox that began in 2011. We design furniture, lighting, murals and outdoor spaces, and are always eager to solve new design opportunities.
Our expertise is pairing found materials with skilled and detailed craftsmanship to create new lives for old objects.
KRISTEN A. FOX
A visual artist & architectural designer, Kristen is perpetually driven to observe connections—between people, objects, and ideas. Highly collaborative, learning to seek out these theoretical and social connections has been a driving force throughout her design career.
Kristen attained Master's Degrees in Architecture and Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland in December of 2013.

ABOUT US
JEFF GIPSON
Jeff is highly creative and multitalented craftsman. His fabrication skills span a huge variety of materials and construction methods--he is a welder, wood worker, painter, muralist, photographer, filmographer, and scenic constructor.
Jeff has a spcial interest in light--he has worked as a lighting hand on many Austin shows and events at music venues and hotels across the city. This interest has translated into the small scale with individual lamps that Jeff designs and builds himself, often from discarded pieces he finds in the area.
Jeff is a true renaissance man, and has had education and experience in a broad array of fields. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Geology as well as Radio, Television & Film. He also has a formal education in Architecture, but Urban Design is his true passion.
